Rocks... Indonesian film goes to Germany!

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The 62nd Berlin International Film Festival opens on Thursday with French Revolution drama "Farewell My Queen" (Les adieux a la reine) and closes with the awards ceremony on February 18. Among them is a film titled “Postcards from the Zoo" –or original tittle is Kebun binatang- is directed by Edwin.

The film has 95 minutes of running time and starred by Nicolas Saputra and Ladya Cheryl. The casting takes place in Indonesia, Germany, and Hong Kong. 

“Postcards from the Zoo" is a story of three year old Lana who was abandoned in the zoo. as cited in www.imdb.com/title/tt2073058/ Lana was then raised by a giraffe trainer. Until one day she was falling in love and decided to leave the zoo. Yet, the zoo seemed never be a part from her mind as she then decided to go back to the place.   

The film festival is scheduled to be held from 9 February to 19 February 2012, with British film director Mike Leigh announced as the President of the Jury. American actress Meryl Streep will be presented with the Honorary Golden Bear on 14 February.

In the festival, hundreds of feature films, shorts and documentaries will screen in cinemas across the city and stars including Angelina Jolie and Meryl Streep are expected on the red carpet. There is also a major film market where rights are bought and sold.
