REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State-owned aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI) is ready to install fuel converter for the official cars of Indonesian cabinet ministers, Coordinating minister for Economy Hatta Rajasa says. The ministers will start using fuel converters installed for their cars before the subsidized gasoline consumption restriction imposed in April 2012.

"Before we ask people to reduce subsidized gasoline consumption, we must start using gas fuel converters on ministers’ car," he said in Jakarta on Monday.

Rajasa adds, the State Secretariat will coordinate the converter installation. It is imperative for Indonesian ministers to install the fuel converter on their official cars. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has started the use of converters.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono says, the converters will not only be installed on ministers` cars but also on all senior officials’ cars. He says the government will distribute the converters free of charge, those cars are basically state assets.
