REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR – If Bali is so famous, Madewi beach may not ring a bell to you. In fact, Madewi is located in Jembrana district in Bali, and the beach gains more and more popularity among international surfers. High waves and beautiful scenery are perfect combinations for surfers.

"There are around 50-100 international surfers enjoy surfing in the beach daily. The number is even higher on certain days," Mahmud said. He works as a motorcycle taxi rider or locally called "ojek".

Mahmud was raised in the village near Madewi. He thinks that the local government needs to do more to promote the beauty of Madewi. Like other tourism destinations in Bali, he said, the beach needed a better management. Paddy field along the beach line, for example, is now eroded due to water abrasion.

The sunset in Madewi is a breathtaking beautiful. The tourist resorts in Madewi will spoil visitors. The visitor can find hotels, restaurants, and swimming pools to enjoy.

If spending night at a hotel room is not your cup of tea, try to rent a hut or guest house owned by local people.

"In Madewi, you may enjoy the original atmosphere of Bali. Unlike other popular tourist destinations in Bali, Madewi is an untouched beach," said Sulaeman, a surf guide in Madewi.

Well, Bali is not only about Kuta or Sanur. Go to Madewi, if you hunt for high waves and original taste of Bali. Is anyone interested?
