REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security Affairs, Wiranto, said that armed separatist criminal groups (KKSB) would continue to be chased and eradicated. However, he did not rule out the possibility to settle it peacefully.

"They will continue to be chased. In this country, there should not be illegal armed force, which only commits murder and chaos. In any country they will be chased, we will eradicate them (KKSB)," Wiranto said in Jakarta on Thursday (Dec 12).

According to Wiranto, the government would not let the group interfere with country's interests. He also ensured that he would resolve the issues related to KKSB.

The National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) could chase them down because there were regulations that backing up their actions.

"Yes, we will chase them. There are laws and justifications for allowing Polri and TNI to finish them off," he explained.

Nevertheless, the government opened the door to resolve it in a good way. He expected KKSB members were aware for their actions and wished to concede to the government.

"But if they don't and continue to sacrifice many people, disrupt national interests and stability, then we will act firmly. There is no other way," he reiterated.
