W Borneo police officer dismissed over drug possession case

West Borneo police officer was sent to National Police headquarters to be questioned.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PONTIANAK — West Borneo Police drug investigation deputy director, Hartono has been transferred to National Police headquarters to be questioned on drugs possession case. He was arrested by the security forces at Soekarno Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten on last Saturday (July 28).

“Hartono has been dismissed from his post as West Borneo Police drug investigation deputy director, as stated in National Police chief telegram letter No. ST/1855/VII/2018 dated July 28,” said West Borneo Police chief Didi Haryono on Monday (July 30).

According to Didi, Hartono has been mutated to undergo further examination. He said the step needed to support drugs crime eradication.

Furthermore, Didi said he would act firmly against his ranks at West Borneo Police involved in drugs crime. Whoever involved, according to him, will be processed with law.

“Related to drugs crime, I'll act firmly to whoever affiliated and syndicated, including in our ranks at West Borneo Police,” Didi added.

Hartono is currently being examined by National Police for further investigation. The examination is conducted at Division of Profession and Internal Security of the National Police.
