SBY gets better: Ani Yudhoyono

SBY has been hospitalized since July 17.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian sixth president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has been gradually recovering from his illness, Ani Yudhoyono, former first lady, said here on Thursday. SBY has been hospitalized at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital (RSPAD) on return from his trips to Pacitan, East Java, and Yogyakarta, Tuesday (July 17).

"Thank God, Pak SBY is now getting better," the former president's wife tweeted in her verified Instagram @aniyudhoyono.

She uploaded several photos of those visiting her husband and thanked them. Among the visitors were President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, and Vice President Jusuf Kalla and his wife Mufidah Jusuf Kalla.

Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto and former top officials of the Yudhoyono administration, including Djoko Suyanto and Sudi Silalahi, also visited the former president who ruled Indonesia for 10 years.

Ani stated that those who had visited and prayed for her husband had mentally strengthened her and her family members.

Yudhoyono, the country's sixth head of state, has been receiving medical treatment at the army hospital, Central Jakarta, since July 17, 2018, after reportedly feeling too tired on return from his trip to Pacitan and Yogyakarta.
