REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Fredrich Yunadi, who became the defendant for obstructing investigation against his former client Setya Novanto in e-ID card graft case, said indictment letter read by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor is fake. According to Fredrich, the charges against him have many defects. 

"What is implied in the indictment is fake and blatantly falsified, also what's important to note is Mr Novanto was forced by the investigators to revoke 12 letter of authority that he had ever given to me," said Fredrich after attending the inaugural session at Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday (Feb 8).

He claimed all of the charges are fake and he has evidences that prove it. He was ready to defend himself and planned to present the evidence later.

Earlier, KPK prosecutors have indicted Fredrich along with internist Bimanesh Sutarjo for obstructing investigation against Setya Novanto. Both of them made arrangement for the defendant from "political cluster" in e-ID card graft case to be hospitalized in Medika Permata Hijau hospital following a minor car accident in November 2017. "Therefore, Novanto could missed the anti-graft body summons. 

KPK prosecutor Fitroh Rohcahyanto said Fredrich and Bimanesh alleged to violate Article 21 Law No. 31/1999 as amended by Law No. 20/2001 on Eradication Corruption, also in Article 55 paragraph (1) criminal code (KUHP). Both of them had been detained in two different detention centers.

"It's impossible if i manipulated that Mr Novanto involved in accident because i called KPK and also media to inform my client condition, if I did it, I won't call all of them," Fredrich explained.
