India supports Bali tourism recovery

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- Bali Indian Association (IAB) supported recovery of Bali tourism following the eruption of Mount Agung in the recent months. Tourism as main sector of Bali disrupted due to the disaster that took place since last September 2017.

Bali Governor, Made Mangku Pastika said, he really appreciated IAB who supported the Island of Gods. IAB also will bring a number of Indian artists to Bali and stage art performances with Balinese artists, as one way to boost local tourism.

"It will not only strengthen the relationship between art and culture, but also to prove Bali is safe to visit," said Pastika on Friday (January 5).

Secretary of IAB, Sonia Kaur said more than 60 dancers from India will come to Bali on January 27. The event also fully supported by Paiketan Krama Bali and will be attended by 400 people at Ksiraarnawa Cultural Park.

"There will be around 400 people will attend this event which held at Ksiraarnawa Cultural Park," Sonia said.

India became one of the countries which contributed as the second highest foreign tourist visit to Bali. Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) data showed that the number of Indian tourists came to Bali as of November 2017 reached 21,122 people, the third highest after China (85,898 people) and Australia (73,795 people). The percentage increased 1.15 percent compared to November 2016.

In total, the arrival of Indian tourists directly to Bali from January until November 2017 recorded as many as 243,638 people. The number increased of 48,25 percents compared to 164,345 people in the same period 2016.
