REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Jakarta Metro Police would take procedural steps to arrest the Head of Islamic Defenders Front Habib Muhammad Rizieq Shihab as witness in the case of alleged steamy conversation distribution. It was conducted after he did not attend police invitation for the second times.

“We coordinate with lawyers to look for him,” said the Spokesperson of Jakarta Metro Police Senior Commissioner Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono on Monday (May 15). 

Argo said Jakarta Metro Police investigator might cooperate with Malaysian and Saudi Arabian Police to caught Habib Rizieq. Meanwhile, they would focused in searching Habib Rizieq in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the head of FPI’s legal team Sugito Atmo Prawiro said he did not know about the arrest warrant against Habib Rizieq. He said Rizieq was planned to be back to Jakarta on Monday (May 15). But, he cancelled his plan as the steam conversation case has political tendencies. 

Based on information received by Sugito, Habib Rizieq was in Malaysia. But, he probably has travelled be back to Saudi Arabia. 

The case was recorded by Jakarta Metro Police with No. LP/510/I/2017/PMJ/Dit Reskrimsus related to alleged steamy conversation distribution involved Rizieq and a woman named Firza Husein.

The evidence was a screenshot of text message conversation using Whatsapp, allegedly between Habib Rizieq and Firza on Sunday (January 29).
