Director General of Taxes resigns as tax revenue not achieve target

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Director General of Taxes, Sigit Priadi Pramudito, conveyed his resignation. He explained that it was because the Directorate General of Taxes was not able to reach target of tax revenue.

"The resignation is as my responsibility not to be able to manage the Directorate General of Taxes in achieving the revenue targets of above 85 percent," said Sigit, Tuesday (1/12).

Sigit revealed, tax revenue this year would only reach 80 to 82 percent. He hoped the new Director General of Taxes could bring credibility, accountability, and prosperous to Directorate General of Taxes in the future.

"I express gratitude for support and help of my friends," he added.

Finance Minister, Bambang Brodjonegoro, previously stated that tax revenues until the end of November 2015 only reached 65 percent from target of revised state budget of Rp 1,294.2 trillion.
