REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA--The National Narcotics Board (BNN) stated its readiness to perform a chemical test on the suspended constitutional court (MK) chairman, identified by his initials as AM, to see if he has abused narcotics, BNN spokesman said.

"BNN is always prepared to take professional steps, including conducting a chemical test on the suspect, in case of a request from MK," said BNN spokesman Snr. Comr. Sumirat Dwiyanto in a short text message on Saturday.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officers found suspected drugs in the search of  Constitutional Court Chief of Justice's office on Thursday following his arrest in an alleged bribery case on Wednesday night.

Sumirat said the board also had handed the results of its investigation of the suspected drugs to MK on Saturday at 10 a.m. local time. MK asked BNN to investigate the suspected drugs on Friday night at 11.00 p.m.

"It is up to MK to declare whether or not the findings are drugs," he said. KPK earlier confirmed that its investigator had found hashish and ecstasy pills during the search.

KPK arrested AM at his house on late Wednesday shortly after he allegedly received US$260.00 from a Golkar party lawmaker, identified as CHN, and a businessman, CN.
