REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ustaz (Muslim teacher) Abdul Somad's lawyer, Kapitra Ampera said there is no evident explanation behind the deportation of his client from Hong Kong. His team was still trying to find related information about what actually happened.
Kapitra said, there was possibility the deportation of ustaz Somad happened because hoax information from Indonesia.
According to him, there were some parties who do not want his client give religious advices (tausiyah) in Hong Kong.
"I think there is hoax or mislead information from Indonesia but the real motive is unclear and we want to find whoever spread that," Kapitra said on Wednesday (December 27).

On December 23, ustaz Somad was deported by Hong Kong Government Immigration authorities for no apparent reason. Ustaz Somad was planned to deliver tausiyah in front of the Indonesian workers in the city.
Kapitra said, his team has requested clarification. They also asked Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, they were not satisfied with the answer.
He said, will also report the deportation of ustaz Somad to House of Representatives (DPR) and the other agencies to demand Indonesian government related to their commitment in protecting its citizens wherever they are.
