Jokowi promotes Asian Games among senior high school student

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) promoted the Asian Games 2018 among the students of senior high schools at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java Province. At least 270 students from senior high schools across Indonesia met Jokowi on Thursday.

The president, who wore a jacket bearing the Asian Games 2018 logo, also took a quiz related to the sporting event to be held in Jakarta and Palembang City.

During the event, Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs Muhadjir Effendi and Minister of State Secretary Pratikno.

The students responded to the questions in a lively manner, while the president chose a girl Rianti Putri to answer the quiz. Putri is part of a delegation of several Jakarta students and serves as the chairman of the Students' Organization for Internal School.

Another student Andy Rizky from Sebatik Island of North Kalimantan Province also answered the head of state's quiz on the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

The president handed out bicycles to Putri and Rizky.

Jokowi has invited hundreds of students, with a good track record in schools in Indonesia.

He also gave advice on leadership and current challenges faced by the nation.
