REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) filed a police report against Setya Novanto (Setnov)'s attorney, Firman Wijaya on alleged defamation. SBY believed in Crime Investigation Unit chief, National Police chief and the President will follow up his complaint. He denied all allegations arose from conversation between Firman and witness Mirwan Amir that mentioned his name in the trial of e-ID card procurement corruption case on January 25.

SBY assessed Firman's statement came as a strategy to destroy his, his son and probably Democratic party's name. Therefore, he refused assistance offered by his former ministers. "This is my war," Yudhoyono said at the Central Board of Democrat Pary headquarters, Wisma Proklamasi, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (Feb 6).

According to SBY, Firman has slandered him by mentioning that the ruling party, the party who won General Election 2009 had intervened e-ID card project. He said the conversation between Firman and Mirwan was odd. He got the same impression on Firman's statement outside the courtroom.

"It was out of context. I think the nuance was full of set up. It seemed to be directed and indirectly but clear accusing me as a prominent figure, as the ruler who intervene the e-ID card procurement," SBY said.

The police received the repot with number LP / 187 / II / 2018 / Bareskrim, dated February 6, 2018.
