REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Fredrich Yunadi, the lawyer of Setya Novanto, said he will file a pretrial motion against the determination of his client for the second time as suspect in the same corruption case of e-ID card procurement in 2011-2012.

"We will file a pretrial suit," Fredrich said when contacted by Republika.co.id, on Friday (November 10).

Fredrich said, he will also file a police report against Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for alleged violation to the verdict of South Jakarta District Court decided by Judge Cepi Iskandar on September 29.

Judge Cepi considered, at that time KPK did not named Novanto as suspect based on evidences obtained from the issuance of an investigation warrant (sprindik) to the House of Representatives speaker and Golkar party chairman, but by using other suspect sprindik

His decision invalid the status of Novanto as suspect.

Fredrich believed, the verdict of pretrial motion disallow KPK to investigate Novanto in e-ID graft case.

Therefore, even though KPK owned more than a million new solid evidences, they can not ensnare Novanto, he remarked.

"The pretrial verdict was absolutely firm. The judge ordered KPK to stop investigation against Setya Novanto in e-ID card graft case. It means, KPK should not run investigation, whatever the reason is," he reiterated.

For the second time, KPK on Friday had named Novanto as suspect in case of e-ID card procurement.

Novanto was named a suspect in e-ID case in July. He allegedly played a key role in a plan to swindle funds earmarked for the project and the act contributed to an estimated Rp 2.3 million in state losses.
