REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Director of Center of Independent Studies on Public Policies (LPIKP) Romli Atmasasmita twitted an analysis of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW) performances through his personal Twitter account @rajasundawiwaha. Both agencies were argued to be deviated from the initial tasks.
The result of the analysis also encouraged him to be interviewee with Special Team of Inquiry Right to KPK. It was aimed at evaluating KPK performances.
Romli said all the data shared through his Twitter account referred to his book titled 'Sisi Lain Akuntabilitas KPK dan Lembaga Pegiat Antikorupsi: Fakta dan Analisis oleh Lembaga Pengkajian Independen Kebijakan Publik' (The Other Side of KPK’s Accountability and Anti-Corruption Agencies: Fact and Analysis by LPIKP).
“That was LPIKP’s book. So I used the Indonesian Auditory Book (BPK)’ report, BPK evaluated,” said Romli to Republika.co.id on Friday (June 30).
Through his twits, Romli showed a number of foreign funds and grants pouring at the agencies. He said there was a violation of Law on Grants did by KPK and ICW.
"According to executing Chairman of KPK Taufik Ruki to Director of LPIKP, KPK Volume III had signed an MoU with donor countries. But, the funds were not transferred to KPK bank account, but to anti-corruption NGO,” he said.
However, LPKIP had not earned the data related to the statement. But, Romli was sure that the information stated Taufik Ruki was right.
Romli also reported the total grants accepted by ICW based on its financial report 2005-2014 for Rp 91.081.327.590.02. The total foreign funds were Rp 54.848.536.364.73. He said, ICW should report the total funds and grants and shared it to the other NGO, so there would be massive movements.
"ICW’s funds were accepted from 52 foreign donors. It must not free, at least, there should be a report on performance and accountability report,” wrote Romli.
By revealing the data, he expected that the special team would follow up the information and ask an accountability report from KPK. KPK might be responsible for the fate of 36 suspects who were named without any evidence. It violated the Criminal Code. There were also 77 cases to be followed up.
Romli also questioned the concern of foreign funds poured at ICQ. Why ICW did not hold a massive movement to hit the oil and gas mafia. It was assumed to only work on bureaucracy. “ICW is a monopoly institution on anti-corruption movement. It is argued to be credible by foreign countries,” said him.
