REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto has shown the signal to register as candidate in 2019 presidential election. He says will see how the aspirations of the Indonesian people toward him.
"Insya Allah (God willing), if Allah (God) still give physical strength and if needed, I am as a fighter is impossible not to answer the call of the motherland," he said in a gathering of National Leaders with West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Governor TGH Muhammad Zainul Majdi at the Hall of NTB Governor, Mataram on Tuesday.
If not, he want to rest. "I wanted a break," he said.
He also apologized to the people of NTB who have supported him in 2014 presidential election. Prabowo won in NTB with 72.45 percent of the votes.
"I apologized to the people of NTB and their hope to me, but I can’t run the mandate," he said.
He also appreciated the leadership style of NTB Governor TGH Muhammad Zainul Majdi in handled gaps and economic equality of the people.
