REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia has the capability to solve crimes employing indigenously manufactured information technology products, using frequency signals, such as bombing, tapping, and data frequency stealth.

This was observed by a cyber and communications security expert, Pratama Persadha, here on Wednesday (31/8). Pratama, the Head of Communication and Information System Security Research Center (CISSReC), asserted that Indonesia's IT products are competitive, compared with those from other countries.

Therefore, he added, the government should harbor no doubts about the efficacy of the domestic IT products, which are safe as far as security aspects are concerned, such as information leakage.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Indoguardika Cipta Kreasi (ICK), Agung Setia Bakti, said the company produces jammers for GSM, CDMA, 2G/3G/4G and Wi-Fi signals. He added that the device, called Signal Guard, has the capacity to jam signals in a radius of up to 150 meter.

Signal Guard scrambles cell phone frequency signals so that the communication device is practically not functioning within such radius. "This device is commonly used to secure VIP areas or project sites from any wave signal attacks," Agung explained.
