UHO plans to build marine techno park in Southeast Sulawesi

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KENDARI -- The University of Halu Oleo (UHO) in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, plans to build a marine techno park as a center for research and development of science and technology in the province in 2016, according to Prof. La Sara, the dean of the university's Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences.

"The techno park will be built in Lalowaru, South Konawe district, on an area of nine hectares," he said here on Wednesday.

According to him, at the initial phase of the development plan UHO has designed the technology that will be developed in the park.

"The techno park will facilitate students and researchers to do research, and to support the fishery sector production in Southeast Sulawesi," La Sara said.

Techno park is a meeting point for the farmers, players, processors, marketers and practitioners on fishery to build a competition-based fishery sector to produce fish production that has a high sales value.

Techno park in Southeast Sulawesi is one of the construction of 100 techno parks in Indonesia.
