'Battle of Surabaya' animated film of Indonesia history

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA –- After a long process of production, “Battle Surabaya” will present in Indonesia theaters from 20th August 2015. This film told about a history of Indonesia, namely Surabaya battle on 10th November 1945.

A film produced by MSV Pictures and Amikom Yogyakarta, was packaged as a 2D animated film. There will be things and events that have not known by many people that will be shown.

This film became the first Indonesia animated film that attracted Walt Disney Pictures, because the production used quality international standards.

“We made animated films with international standards, started from the script and the storyline," Aryanto said in a press conference of Battle Of Surabaya, in Jakarta, Tuesday (18/8).

Walt Disney for the Asia-Pacific also gave a lot of input in the production of Battle Of Surabaya film. The film production process took up to three years, after almost completed within 2 years.

"To be a world class film, Walt Disney also provided input to us," he added.

In summary, this film told the story of Musa, a teenager who were shoeshine, but then got into a secret letters courier mission. These letters were for soldiers of the country, which after the independence, were still struggling against the foreign country who still wanted to take control over Indonesia.

In his journey, he also met Yumna, a young girl with a sense of nationalism and wantet to defend the country. Not only that, Musa, who was struggling to carry out the mission as well as possible for the sake of Indonesia also have to risk his live and lost his loved ones during the war.
