REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu expressed regret over a fight between a group of the army crack troop (Kopassus) and air force soldiers in Sukoharjo, Central Java.
The fracas in a cafe on Sunday night left an air force soldier killed and three other injured.
Sergeant Major Zulkifli died after being treated at a local hospital.
Ryamizard said such fight had occurred much too often , therefore, he added, he would soon summon the three chiefs of staff of the armed forces to discuss in depth the incident.
"I deeply regret why such incident should occur. It should never happen. I have visited all parts of the country from Papua to Aceh seeking to keep peaceful condition," he said here on Wednesday.
"I have shouted abroad (for peace) but at home we have problem like this," he said.
He said after finishing and has a conclusion from the talks with the chiefs of staff he would also invite the police leaders for talks on similar issue as police and military officers are also often involved in violent fracas.
When asked about sanction, Ryamizard said he would first study the incident.
"We wait in a day or two," he added.
