REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Public satisfaction of Jokowi-Kalla administration dropped dramatically in the last three months. The decreased level of public satisfaction is caused by bad performance of Jokowi-JK’s government in the economic sector and laws.

CEO Alvara Reasearch Center, Hasanuddin Ali said, in period of December 2014-January 2015 the survey was 77.2 percent. However, in March-April 2015 the satisfaction dropped by 12.7 percent. It is important to note because the public satisfaction dropped significantly in just a period of three months.

"If it is viewed in more detail in the last three months, those who answered 'dissatisfied' rose 50 percent and who answered 'very satisfied' and 'very satisfied' decreased by more than 70 percent," said Hasan told Republika on Sunday, May 3.

Using a scale of 1 (very dissatisfied at all) to 6 (very satisfied), the lowest satisfaction index contained in the field of poverty alleviation is 3.32, the stability of prices of basic necessities 3.35, corruption eradication 3.44 and law enforcement 3.57. While the highest satisfaction level in the field of combating drugs 4.01, education 3.93 and health 3.92.

Hasan added, these aspects had to be a special note to the relevant ministries and economic problems of law enforcement. Because, he said, public satisfaction with the ministers who deal with legal and economic issues was also low.

If Jokowi-JK government wants to re-raise the level of public satisfaction, the government should encourage the performance of the ministers associated with the field of economics, law and fighting corruption and improving the communication strategy with the public.

During the first six months of government running, Jokowi has lost momentum to at least keep public expectations remain high. With the downward trend in the level of public satisfaction, Hasan said, it should be a mirror for Joko Widodo President and his cabinet to improve.

“President Joko Widodo should determine policy priority which is truly needed by society," said the alumnus of ITS Surabaya.

The survey is conducted twice since Jokowi-JK government is formed. The first survey conducted in December 2014 - January 2015. And the survey was conducted on March 23 to April 6, 2015 in 9 major cities in Indonesia to 2,000 respondents aged 20-54 years in the big city, which are the Jabodetabek, Medan, Bandung, Palembang, Semarang, Surabaya, Denpasar, Balikpapan and Makassar. The sampling method used was stratified random sampling with a margin of error of 2.24 percent. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews.
