REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A chairman of the Golkar Party under Agung Laksono said he hopes the expert witnesses of Ministry of Justice and Human Right as the defendant could effectively strengthen the decision of the minister at a hearing to be held by the State Administrative Court here on Monday.

Justice and Human Right Minister Jasona Laoly has decided to recognize Agung Laksono's Golkar, but the rival faction under Aburizal Bakrie challenged the decision bringing a legal case against the ministry through the State Administrative Court.

"We hope the expert witnesses could strengthen the legal argument of the minister in issuing his decision on the party in line with the Law on political parties," Ace Hasan Syadzily, a chairman of Golkar under Agung Laksono, said here on Monday (27/4).

Ace said the minister had decided in favor Agung Laksono faction based on a decision of the party's tribunal.

The decision was in line with the Law on Political Parties that internal disputes are to be settled through party's tribunal, he said.

The party which has the second largest seats at Parliament had split into two over party policy.

The Agung Laksono faction gave its support for the government and the rival faction joined an opposition.

Laoly said earlier he has named law experts as witnesses to defend his decision.
