Batam promotes free port's potentials to british entrepreneurs

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BATAM -- The Batam Organizing Agency (BP Batam) has promoted the Free Port area and Free Trade Batam to British entrepreneurs in effort to boost foreign investment in the region.

"On Thursday (Thursday 26) a meeting between BP Batam with British businessmen in collaboration with the British Chamber of commerce (Britcham) was held in Jakarta. Some of them express their interest (to invest) and we will follow it up," director of the One Stop Integrated Services and public relations officer of BP Batam, Dwi Djoko Wiwoho said here on Monday.

The Britcham is a community which was formed with the mission of facilitating trade and investment relations between Indonesia and Britain, covering human resources, retail, infrastructure, energy, manufacture, food and agriculture).

The goal is purely to help members of the Britcham in business development organizations including in starting a business activity.

Wiwiho said, business gathering was attended by the Deputy Chairman of BP Batam Jon Arizal, Mr Chris P Wren (Executive Director) British Chamber of Commerce Indonesia, Dr. Paul Brunet (Managing Director) PT Citra Tubindo and PT Dwi Sumber Arca Waja, Asroni Harahap as Advisor of BP Batam, Director of Investment and Marketing Purnomo Andiantono.

In addition, around 30 British entrepreneurs also attended the business gathering.
