After Eid holiday, govt to decide the fate of reclamation island

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan said the government is still conducting its study on the fate of G island of Jakarta Bay reclamation. The result will be announced after Eid holiday.

Regarding Jakarta Governor-elect plan to stop the reclamation project, Luhut said it would not be a problem as long as it was backed with datas.

"We will announce our data when the National Development Planning Agency has finished its study on Jakarta bay reclamation," he said on a press release received by Republika.co.id on Wednesday.

Luhut planned to invite Jakarta governor-elect, Anies Baswedan, and other parties who have done related study to hear the exposure of central government data on reclamation project. "If according to their study it was not necessary to continue the reclamation, go ahead. It's their right," Luhut said.
