Senoro-Donggi gas project to come on line in mid 2015

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Donggi-Senoro gas project in Central Sulawesi would start operation in the middle of this year, PT Medco Energi Internasional, one of the owners said.

The project includes development of Senoro gas and construction of liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Donggi.

Medco's President Director Lukman Mahfoedz said development of the Senoro gas that supplies gas to the LNG plant, has reached more than 98 percent and the drilling of 13 wells had been completed .

Currently the Central Processing Plant is already in the phase of pre-commissioning,channeling gas from the well to the LNG plant, Lukman said here on Monday.

The Senoro gas project and the LNG plant will give significant contribution to the company's income, he said after a meeting of the company's shareholders.

Other owners of the gas project, which was built at a cost of US$2.8 billion include Mitsubishi Corporation, South Korea's Kogas, and state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina.

Meanwhile, Medco has signed a deal with Pertamina which will buy gas from Medco's A Blok in Aceh under a contract of 13 years.

Final investment decision would be made in the middle of this year with target that supply will start in 2017.

Under the contract, Medco will supply 58 billion BTU of gas per day from the A block to Pertamina.

At the shareholders' meeting, PT Medco decided to pay US$4.05 million in dividend from 2014 book year.
