REPUBLIKA.CO.ID., SURABAYA - Some students of Petra Christian University of Surabaya, East Java successfully turn plastic waste into kerosene-like fuel.

"The plastic waste processing's equipment is a modified garbage drum, then we put some screws here and there, asa well as some other tools. This drum has a pipeline that transports fuel from plastic waste and the result is placed in the bottle. So, this is actually not a special tool. Its function is to accommodate a lot of plastic waste and processed natural," lecturer at Department of Visual Communication Design, Deddi Duto Hartanto said on Thursday.

Plastic waste became serious problems in big cities in Indonesia, including Surabaya because it needed hundreds of years to be decomposed naturally. And the good news is people can make their own processor to turn the waste into fuel.
