REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Advisor of Patriotic Advocate (ACTA) has reported the sister and the member of legal team of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) in the case of religious blasphemy, Fifi Lety Indra or FF, to the police. She is allegedly to have outraged the Islamic religion via a viral Youtube video in the social media.
The video was uploaded by an account named as EJ Syndicate. It entitled in Bahasa Indonesia as ‘Full Video of Ahok’s Lawyer Said Quran is Inherited by the Prophet Muhammad’. The advisor of ACTA, Habiburokhman, has filed the report on Thursday.
He said it is fair to report Fifi, because she already interpreted the Islamic belief by her own insight. However, Habiburokhman, said that he did know the context of the statement, in example where the location is and what the context underline it. "But it is clear that there is a video spread on social media, there are people who deliver their question to me about it. I watched it for many times last night and we temporarily and strongly believe that there is a case of blasphemy here," he said.
He corrected Fifi’s statement. He said, the Quran is not revealed by the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, but by Allah SWT. However, Fifi has carelessly cited the Islamic teachings. "It was a very big difference for saying that the Quran is inherited by the Great Prophet Muhammad. It means that the Qur'an is the doctrine made by a man," he explained.
Meanwhile, Fify was immediately apologized after knowing her mistake. He wrote an open letter to the Muslim community. "If there are my words I delivered passionately so I made wrong statements, as a human full of mistakes, I apologize," said Fify in a statement on Thursday.
She said to not intend to interpret Quran as a holy book inherited by the Prophet Muhammad. She meant God has revealed it through the Prophet Muhammad to be conveyed to all mankind.
She added that the Quran contains some similar teachings to other religious holy book such as Bible. "Quran also mentioned the story about prophets who is addressed on Bible, such as Noah (Nabi Nuh AS), David (Nabi Daud AS), including Jesus Christ (Nabi Isa AS),” she said.
She admitted that she would also be furious when hearing somebody insulting the Quran, for example by telling lie or twisting it. "Because in the Qur'an there about Isa Almasih whom I believe as the Lord Jesus Christ," she said.
