All digital Quran applications still have no legal certificates

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG –- There are about 240 types of digital Quran application that can be used in smartphones. However, the entire digital Qoran does not have certificate of legality or tashih, as a sign of right way of reading.

“Android didn’t give legal certificate for digital Quran application,” said Head of Sub Directorate of Security Information, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Hashim Gautama, Thursday (20/8).

He explained that all application, including digital Quran, can be accessed through Google’s Play Store app. Therefore, Google will not be concerned with tashih of digital Quran.

He suggested that the legal certificate can be given the any online Quran in several sites. There is special technology related to this, namely certificate of reliability or security in form of application.

He also hoped that people who find improper way of reading in digital Quran application, can provide a report to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

"After receiving a report or complaint, we will communicate it with Google, "he added.
