REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA --Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah must increase their role to build Indonesia, Indonesia Ulema Council official (MUI) said.
“NU and Muhammadiyah must work together fill some strategic position in this country, not only for Muslim interest, but for this nation,” Anwar Abbas said to //Republika//, Monday (3/8).
Abbas call 10 elites position which need to be concern those two biggest Muslim organization in Indonesia. Among others, politician, scholar, businessman, professional, teacher, social worker, bureaucrats, army, policeman, and cultural activist.
However, Anwar added, many they cadres now have fill those positions, expect one, businessman. “From 10 richest men in Indonesia, only one is Muslim. Even though according to data 88 percent peoples Muslim.”
