REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – About 600 Muslim entrepreneurs from 35 countries will participate in the 3rd Muslim World Business and Investment Zone (MWBIZ) 2012 in Jakarta to strengthen the economic alliance. Somalia Ambassador to Indonesia, Mohammad Olow Barrow, said the agenda was very important. “Islam should unite for business. The opportunity is big,” Barrow said on Friday.

The conference, he said, facilitated the business opportunity and potency for Muslim. “All this time, we do many businesses with the third country. By knowing the potency of each country, we can transact directly,” he said.

MWBIZ 2012 can be a synergic interaction tool between government and entrepreneurs in contributing to global Islamic economy. The event includes the conference on trade and business of OIC members, Islamic stock exchange, and Islamic banking.

The Chairman of International Business Center of OIC, Muhammad Abdullah, said the event was important for Muslim community in the world, and Jakarta represented the economy of Muslim country. The representative of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce, Andindya Bakrie, said the agenda is a chance to boost economic security. Global crisis in Europe and US should not affect Muslim.

“This is a good oppportunity to answer global economic challenge,” Bakrie said.
