REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHERAN -- Chairman of the Palestinian parliament, Aziz Duwak, has criticized the Two-State Solution and invited all participants of the International Conference to support the Palestinian people in condemning it. "There must be actions that denounce the Two-State Solution, because it is a careless decision," Duwak said here on Tuesday (Feb 21), while delivering a speech at a conference attended by representatives of 80 countries and 700 delegates.

The Palestinian parliament speaker also criticized the continued construction of illegal settlements by Israel in Gaza and the West Bank and urged the Palestinians to fight against the Zionists' actions. "We have to stop (the construction by Israel). This is an insult to the Palestinian people. I also urge the Palestinians to remain persistent and increase resistance against the Zionists and reclaim their territory," he stated.

The Palestinians must remain alert of all Israeli activities in Gaza and the West Bank, he noted, calling on all countries and governments around the world to unite and prepare for further actions in the same spirit as the conference. He also sought support for other real steps to help the Palestinian people by providing humanitarian aids such as nutritious food and medicines.

According to Duwak, under any circumstances, the Palestinian people can survive against the crimes committed by the Israelis. The Iranian Parliament has organized an international conference in support of the Palestinian struggle for five times.

The first conference was held from October 19 to 22, 1991; followed by the 2nd conference on April 24 and 25, 2001; the 3rd on April 14and 15, 2005; the 4th on March 4 and 5 2009; and the 5th on October 1 and 2, 2011.

All the conferences were held in Teheran and were attended by parliamentarians, political figures, and cultural and scientific experts from various countries of the world. The 6th Conference, held on Feb 21 and 22, was attended by 80 foreign delegations from various countries in the world, 700 foreign guests, and representatives of pro-Palestinian organizations.
