REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa denied criticism addressed by Rector of Paramadina University who also Indef senior economist Prof Didik Junaidi Rachbini regarding the placement of Rp 200 trillion in Bank Himpunan Negara (Himbara). According to Didik, Menkeu Purbaya's policy violated the Basic Law (UUD) 1945.
“Mr. Didik made his law wrong,” Purbaya said in response to a question from Republika.co.id at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (16/9/2025).
Purbaya revealed that earlier today he was contacted by legal expert Lambock V Nahattands who explained the legal basis of the policy of transferring government funds in Bank Indonesia (BI) to five state owned banks. The outcome of that discussion, concludes if Didik's argument, who is the rector of Paramadina University, is fundamentally wrong.
“I just called Mr Lambock, the lawman, and he said to me, 'Mr. Didik is wrong'. And this has been done before, and this is not.. Our money is transferred,” Purbaya said.
He also advised Didik to study legislation again in order to be precise when criticizing it. “And I consulted legal experts at the Ministry of Finance, it has been done. First time in September 2008, and there were no problems. Pak Didik has to study again,” Purbaya said.
