Thom Haye Wants to Win with Team in Sydney

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian national  attacking midfielder Thom Haye is confidently eyeing the seventh match of Group C of the Third Round of the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualifier against Australia on March 20, 2025. This versatile midfielder with a good vision of playing uploaded the latest photo as he was about to leave from Schippol Airport, Netherlands, Saturday (15/3/2025) in the evening.

Almere FC players in the Eredivisie will have to travel 26 hours by air to arrive in Sydney on Sunday (March 16, 2025). The Professor, his nickname, had just had his last game with his club Almere City. The 30-year-old played the full 90 minutes on Saturday (15/3/2025) in the early hours of the morning as his team played out a 1-1 draw against NAC Breda.

“We play every game to win. We're not going to Australia looking for a draw. We want to win,” Haye said on The Haye Way, his personal Youtube channel.

“At home against Bahrain, we want to win. So, how many points can be gained? The target is six. Always. Every game you want to win,” he confirmed.

Thom's target exceeded coach Patrick Kluivert's shots. On previous occasions, Kluivert was eyeing four points from matches against Australia and Bahrain.

In addition to Thom, Justin Hubner, Sandy Walsh, and Rafael Struick are among the first wave of Indonesian international players heading to Australia.
