REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Prabowo Subianto instructed the relevant ministries to maintain the stability of food commodity prices and ensure food availability for Indonesians ahead of Ramadan 1446 H/2025 A.D. This was conveyed by President Prabowo in Lanud Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta, after returning from the agenda of the Regional Heads Retreat in Magelang, Central Java, on Friday (28/2/2025).

“I have delivered instructions to the Minister of Food, the Minister of Trade, the Minister of Agriculture, all relevant ministers to ensure the availability of basic materials and prevent any speculative price increases and surges,” he said on Friday (28/2/2025).

In his statement, the Head of State stated that he continued to monitor the development of production and food prices in recent weeks.

“In recent weeks, I have continued to monitor the development of the production situation and food prices,” President Prabowo said.

The president stressed the importance of ensuring that all communities, especially the most needy, have access to food at affordable prices. For this reason, President Prabowo called on all relevant agencies and agencies to always work hard so that all people, especially the people who need it most, can reach the prices of these food ingredients.

The president also reiterated that the government will not only conduct monitoring, but also take effective executive actions in countering speculative practices in the markets. The move is expected to prevent any oknums exploiting the momentum of Ramadan to reap unnatural profits by excessively raising prices.

In his statement, the President also said that the Ministry of Religious Affairs will hold a prayer session this afternoon to determine the beginning of Ramadan 1446 H. President Prabowo also congratulated all Muslims in Indonesia on fasting, while asking for forgiveness from birth and heart.

“May our worship be accepted by Allah SWT,” he said.

In the press conference at the Lanud Halim Perdanakusuma Pandawa Room, President Prabowo was accompanied by Minister of State Prasetyo Hadi, Secretary of Kebinet Teddy Indra Wijaya, Minister of Food Zulkifli Hasan, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, and Minister of SOE Erick Thohir.
