REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of Presidential Communications Office Hasan Nasbi said that the President requested the launch of the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) went through a careful process.
President Prabowo briefly alluded to the government's idea of consolidating all the country's wealth assets through BPI Danantara while giving directions at the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of the Central Government and Local Governments 2024 in Sentul, West Java, Thursday (7/11/2024).
“Earlier he spoke about our desire to consolidate all our wealth assets in an institution called Daya Anagata Nusantara, abbreviated as Danantara,” Hasan Nasbi said in a press statement in Sentul, West Java, on Thursday.
He explained that in his direction, the President requested that the establishment of BPI Danantara to consolidate the country's wealth should not be rushed.
According to the President, he said, Danantara being the embryo of this country's corporate superholding, must go through a careful and prudential process.
At the President's direction, Danantara's launch, originally scheduled for Thursday, November 7, 2024, had to be postponed, until President Prabowo returns from a two-week foreign trip.
“The process must be carried out first, so there can be no rush,” Mr. President said. So yes we have to go through the process carefully, prudently so that later the results are good,” he said.
Hasan added that Danantara's formation would be like Temasek, a global investment-focused holding company owned by the Singapore government.
On a previous occasion, BPI Danantara Head Muliaman Darmansyah Hadad said that the establishment of Danantara will not revise the Act (UU) on State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), but through the revision of two government regulations (PP) and presidential regulations (Perpres).
