The Indonesia U-20 Team Held Training in Japan

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TOKYO -- The Indonesia U-20 team arrived at Haneda Airport, Tokyo on Tuesday (5/11/2024) to undergo a training concentration (TC) in Sakura State on 6-23 November 2024. This TC was a preparation to perform at the final round of the U-20 Asia Cup in China on 6—23 February 2025.

“During our time in Japan we will conduct five trials. Thank you for the support of KBRI Tokyo and Indonesians in Japan. Please pray,” said U-20 national coach Indra Sjafri.

He added that the U-20 team plans to trial with clubs that compete in the equivalent competition of League 2 to teams from universities.

Coordinator of KBRI Tokyo Cultural Social Illumination Function Muhammad Al Aula confirmed KBRI Tokyo's readiness to provide full support to the U-20 team during the training in Japan.

“Welcome to the U-20 team in Japan. The training program of the U-20 national team in Japan ahead of the upcoming U-20 Asian Cup finals in China is a valuable opportunity to prepare the Red and White squad for next year's U-20 Asian Cup. KBRI Tokyo is always ready to fully support the needs of the U-20 team in Japan,” Al Aula said.

Previously ,33 Garuda Muda squad focused on training for one week from October 27 to November 3, 2024 in Bali. After a selection, 30 players were selected to be brought to Japan.

Indonesia ensured a place in the final round of the 2025 U-20 Asia Cup after topping Group F by bagging seven points in the qualifying round.

The group division of the U-20 Asia Cup will take place on 17 November 2024. A total of 16 participating nations qualified for the final round of the U20 Asia Cup in China and will be grouped in four groups.

The 16 countries are Saudi Arabia, Australia, China, Iraq, Iran, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Qatar, Syria, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Yemen and Jordan.
