REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (PM), Muhaimin Iskandar alluded to the dangerous phenomenon of violence in educational institutions. Cak Imin believes that boarding schools can be a role model for anti-violence campaigns in the educational environment.

This was said by Cak Imin while attending the National Santri Day commemoration at Pondok Pesantren Mahasina Darul Qur'an wal Hadits in Bekasi on Tuesday (22/10/2024). Cak Imin observes the violence taking place in the world of Education.

“Today there is an emergency threat of violence in educational institutions. We must honestly admit that not only boarding schools, all education based on dormitories, general education based on various religions is experiencing a violent emergency, and we must confront it,” said Cak Imin, who is also the DPP Chairman of the National Awakening Party (CLA).

So Cak Imin considered the Declaration of Anti-Violence in Pesantren on the anniversary of the National Santri Day to be the right momentum. Cak Imin invites the world of ponpes to become a role model for applying anti-violence in the educational environment.

“The boarding school environment rich in good values should be the vanguard in campaigning against violence in the education world,” said the DPP General Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB).

It is known that the Women of the Nation carried out the National Declaration “Santri Protected for the Resurrection of the State”. The declaration is instructed to the entire Regional Governing Council (DPW), Branch Management Council (DPC) to the Managers of the Women's Branch of the Nation as an Autonomous Agency or the women's wing of the CLA.

The reading of the Manuscript of the Declaration was conducted by Santri, Guru, Ustadz, Siti Mukaromah (Chairman of DPP Perempuan Bangsa), Neng Eem Marhamah Zulfa Hiz (Chairman of PKB MPR RI faction), and Sujatmiko (Member of DPR RI Constituency Depok Bekasi).

Siti Mukaromah, also known as Erna, refers to many professionals, the business world, and statesmen who come from Pondok Pesantren.

“Since ancient times, Pondok Pesantren has proven to have given birth to many figures not only heroes and statesmen, but also professionals, businessmen and so on,” said Erma, who is also a Member of the Parliament of RI.

Thus, Erna emphasizes the very importance of Pondok Pesantren environment free from physical, psychic, and mental violence.

“So that Pondok Pesantren can continue to give birth to a generation that is karmic and has a high sense of nationalism,” Erna said.

It is noted that the Mahasina Darul Qur'an wal Hadith boarding house founded by KH Abu Bakar Rahziz and Nyai Badriyah Fayumi has an educational concept, namely Integrated Education of Clerical Cadres, Qur'anic Leaders, and Nationality-oriented Leaders. This means that the education built in this boarding school is highly integrated, connected, linked and inseparable from each other.
