REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A number of elite political parties and public figures picketed Prabowo Subianto's residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta (Jaksel), Monday (14/10/2024). The arrival of the figures is related to the appointment of ministers in the 2024 cabinet of the Prabowo-Gibran government.
Prabowo-Gibran will be officially sworn in as president and vice president on Sunday (20/10/2024). From Republika.co.id's observation at Rumah Kertanegara IV, some who appear to face Prabowo among them are cadres of his own party from Gerindra. Among them, Fadli Zon, Sugiono, Ahmad Sufmi Dasco, and Prasetyo Hadi.
Several others were seen coming, such as former PDIP politician Maruarar Sirait, PAN senior politician Yandri Susanto, Golkar Party politician Nusron Wahid, and Democratic Party DPP Secretary General Teuku Rifky Harsya.
Former Komnas human rights commissioner Natalius Pigai also came. The only female figure observed facing Prabowo, was Princess Wardhana's Widiyanti. And the only minister seen coming was Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf aka Gus Ipul.
Nusron Wahid, when intercepted by reporters, said that in a conversation with Prabowo, there was indeed a request to be prepared to help the upcoming government. “Yes, whose name is cadres have to be prepared,” he said. Nusron Masib, however, was reluctant to say whether Prabowo's request was related to his appointment as minister.
“The bottom line is, anywhere, yes should be ready,” Nusron said. Something similar was said by Natalius Pigai. According to him, his meeting with Prabowo was to jointly build a government, not once. And at his meeting with Prabowo, on Monday (14/10/2024), there was a demand for equal participation in the government.
“About where I helped Mr. Prabowo's government, he will announce later. I, as a soldier, am ready to help his government,” Natalius said.
Meanwhile, Maruarar revealed that Prabowo asked him to help in the upcoming government to improve people's lives. “Hopefully what we do next, can be beneficial for society,” Ara said, greeting his relatives.
