REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A total of 15 companies and institutions won the award Anugerah ESG Republika 2024. This award is given to entities that have a strong commitment to implementing sustainable and responsible business practices in Indonesia.
The organization of the ESG Republika Award is the culmination of the campaign “Sehati for the Earth.” The campaign aims to raise public awareness that safeguarding the earth and applying ESG principles is urgent.
The ESG Republika 2024 Anugerah event held at Hotel Westin, Jakarta, Thursday (19/9/2024), was attended by a number of ministers and directors of state-owned enterprises. Some of the ministers present were SOE Minister Erick Thohir, Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia, and Minister of Communications and Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi.
Director of Republika Nur Hasan Murtiaji explained that Anugerah ESG Republika assesses several important aspects, such as the company's efforts to reduce environmental impact, make positive contributions to society, and conduct good and transparent corporate governance.
Hasan stressed that the assessment is done very comprehensively to ensure that the companies awarded the award actually contribute to the consistent application of ESG.
“Our assessment process is thorough. We want to make sure that those companies that we recognize have been demonstrably committed to ESG practices,” Hasan said.
