REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs has completed the socialization and mentoring of halal certification to 15,000 micro-enterprises through the “Roadshow Kita Halalin 2024”, which is the series of the program Formal Transformation of Micro Enterprises (Transfumi) 2024.
“Overall, we have socialized and provided halal assistance to 15 thousand micro-entrepreneurs with the achievement of issuing halal certificates of more than 40 thousand certificates,” said Deputy for Micro Enterprises of Kemenkop UKM Yulius in an official statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (4/9/2024).
Halal socialization and mentoring activities through the program “Roadshow Kita Halalin 2024” have been held in 15 regions, namely Bangka Belitung Islands, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Banyuwangi, Jembrana, South Sumatra, West Java, South Kalimantan, Trenggalek, South Sulawesi, West Kalimantan, NTB, Surakarta and Sukoharjo, as well as Salatiga City.
This year's roadshow series closes with an event in Banten Province. In this activity, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs provided socialization and mentoring of halal certificates to 1,000 thousand micro-entrepreneurs.
“And we are in synergy with the Halal Product Guarantee Organizing Agency (BPJPH), the Regional Government of Banten Province, the Regional Committee for Sharia Economy and Finance (KDEKS) of Banten, as well as banking partners,” Yulius said.
Yulius hopes that this “Roadshow Kita Halalin 2024" can be a joint momentum to strengthen synergies between stakeholders. The goal, so that the target of accelerating halal certification can be achieved on time. The previous government postponed the halal certification obligation for micro and small business (SMP) products, from October 2024 to October 2026.
According to Yulius, the halal mandatory delay policy is a form of government favoritism towards UMK perpetrators.
“In addition, with this delay, UMK actors are given the opportunity to take care of and apply for halal certification until October 2026,” Yulius said.
Yulius also hopes that the “Roadshow Kita Halalin 2024" program can accelerate the acceleration of realization of halal facilitation for micro-enterprises and support the mandatory halal program of October 2026.
Earlier, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, in his opening remarks in Banten on Tuesday (3/9), said that now halal is a global issue and is not only mandatory in Muslim-majority countries. Therefore, he believes that if Indonesia is not proactive in developing the halal industry, then halal products from other countries will dominate the global market.
