REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that they did not find any involvement and linkage of SOE Minister Erick Thohir in cases of alleged corruption in the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and PT Angkutan Sungai, Lake, and Crossing (ASDP). The KPK said Erick's summons was not necessary either.

“Until now, no link between ET brothers in the DJKA and ASDP cases has been found,” KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika said at the KPK White House, Jakarta, Friday (30/8/2024).

The KPK has also so far stated that there are no plans to summon Erick Thohir in connection with the investigation of the case. “To date, investigators do not feel that the information in question is necessary to reduce the elements of the DJKA case that is being dealt with. If there is, there will definitely be a summons,” he said.

Earlier, KPK revealed that PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry purchased a vessel that was not based on procurement specifications. The ship was purchased while under the auspices of PT Jembatan Nusantara.

“For his own activities it is legal. That is, the activity, for the proposed activity is legal. It happened that it started to happen because it was during the process, so, the items purchased from PT JN (Jembatan Nusantara) were also not recent conditions,” said KPK Director of Investigation Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK White Merah Building, South Jakarta, Thursday (15/8/2024).

“That's what ultimately led to the loss. Then also calculations and so on,” Asep said. Asep explained in PT ASDP the fleet of ships was inadequate to meet the crossing needs. Especially during holidays such as lebaran or big day.

“From there, then a program or project for the addition of the fleet is proposed, like that, this is legal, it is possible, there are studies. The only thing that matters is when he buys it. Well, that's the specifications also don't fit and so on,” Asep said.

KPK is known to be deeply involved in cases of alleged corruption in the neighborhood of PT Angkutan Sungai, Lake, and Penybrangan (ASDP) Indonesia Ferry (Persero). KPK investigators have made forced attempts to confiscate some of the cars involved in the case.

The KPK was noted to have identified the parties as suspects. But the identity of the suspect and the complete construction of the new case will be announced at the time of forced detention. The KPK estimates the potential losses of the country from this corruption case at Rp1.27 trillion.
