Indonesian climbing athlete manager Ical Umarella specifically asked for prayers and support from the community, as athletes have tried their utmost during this time to follow various preparation programs.
“To the people of Indonesia, I ask for your prayers and support for the athletes who performed in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” Ical said in a written statement on Saturday (27/7/2024).
He revealed that the Indonesian rock climbing team was strengthened by four flagship athletes to compete with the speed numbers of the Paris 2024 Olympics, namely Veddriq Leonardo and Rahmad Adi Mulyono in the men's category, as well as Rajiah Salsabillah and Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi for the girls category.
The four athletes have managed to make history, as for the first time in the sport of rock climbing speed numbers were contested at the Olympics and Indonesia immediately filled the full four quotas for the category.
Therefore, the energy of prayer from the community is very important, so that the struggle of the athletes can be maximized at each game.
“So that they can go through all the games and achieve the best result for Indonesia,” he said.

Indonesian rock climbing team coach Hendra Basir said his four foster children would focus on strengthening mentally ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. It reveals all the preparations that have been made, from physique, strategy, and technique.
“In addition, we also focus on mental strengthening, because a strong mentality is crucial to their performance in every game during the Olympics,” Hendra said.
He is optimistic that the Indonesian rock climbing team will take home the gold medal, because the preparations made have been very thorough and detailed.
“They have completed various training programs to maximize capabilities,” he said.
