Stories of Survivors of SMK Depok Group Death Accident

At least 11 people were killed in the fatal accident.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — A survivor of the SMK Lingga Kencana bus crash in Depok, West Java named Vivi Aulia inform people is related to the condition of the Trans Putera Fajar bus. He told his mother, Maryati, that the bus he was riding on was having problems.

According to Maryati, before the accident Vivi informed herself about the problematic condition of the bus. At that time, Vivi and the troupe set out from Vila headed to Tangkuban Perahu. Vivi confided that the bus she was calling could not go uphill.

“When I went home, I said, 'I want to go to Tangkuban by boat, but the car is not as good as that',” Maryati said, Saturday (11/5/2024).

Furthermore, Maryati said at around 16.00 pm her son was on his way home. Then at about 18:00pm, his son was eating but the conditions were dark as the bus suffered a breakdown.

Not long later Vivi called again but with another number. He reported that the bus he was driving had an accident.

This fatal accident began when the Trans Putera Fajar bus with police number AD 7524 OG transporting a group of students from SMK Lingga Kencana, Depok, West Java was heading from Bandung to Subang.

Then it suddenly veered to the right and hit SUV car which was in the opposite lane and the shoulder of the road so that the bus rolled over.

As a result of the accident as many as 60 people were injured, 11 of whom died and the rest suffered severe and minor injuries. Allegedly due to the presence of blong brakes on the bus. The fatal accident occurred on Jalan Raya Kampung Palasari, Desa Palasari, Ciater, Subang, West Java, Saturday (11/5/2024) at 18.45 WIB.
