REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the National Amanat Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan prepared Eko Patrio as a ministerial candidate in the cabinet of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka. However, it is not yet certain that the ministry will be headed by the figure also known as the comedian.

Zulhas's statement, a familiar greeting of Zulkifli Hasan, was delivered when announcing the name that PAN will carry in the local elections (local elections) of Jakarta 2024. When mentioning Eko's name, Zulhas stated that the person in question will be a potential minister.

“If Jakarta has Zita, there is Pasha, there is Eko, but Eko is a potential minister,” he said in Jakarta, Sunday (5/5/2024).

Nevertheless, Zulhas could not determine the ministry that Eko Patrio would lead. Politics is dynamic. That is, everything can change at any time.

“We'll see later, politics is dynamic,” he said when asked about the ministry that Eko will lead.

According to him, Prabowo as president certainly has the prerogative to determine the cabinet. Therefore, full authority to determine ministers would later be in the hands of the president.

“Mr. Prabowo as president-elect has his prerogatives. I know best,” he said.

Eko Patrio, whose real name is Eko Hendro Purnomo, is known to be famous through the entertainment world. Eko was originally known as a comedian who belonged to the Patrio group. However, since 2009 Eko has plunged into the political world and has been a member of DPR RI until now.
