REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- The Department of Control and Evaluation of Pancasila Ideology Education Agency (BPIP) through the Directorate of Control organized the 'Pancasila Ideology Training Talkshow in the Campus of Islamic State University Alauddin Makassar, UIN Alauddin Makassar, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi, Thursday (25/4/2024).

The purpose of this talk show activity is the extent to which BPIP implements Pancasila Ideology Training in the campus, especially UIN Alauddin in the perspective of control.

On the talk show, Mukhammad Fahrurozi, S.Sos, M.Si. as Director of Control of BPIP raised the negative issues inherent in Indonesia.

“In Indonesia, we face complex issues, from identity politics to corruption and drugs. Attitudes of intolerance are at the root of the problems of radicalism and terrorism. Ongoing intolerance can lead to extremism, which goes against people's social values,” he said.

Therefore, BPIP based on the instructions given by the President serves to emphasize the importance of grounding the value of Pancasila in the younger generation.

“Indonesian President Joko Widodo has given instructions to BPIP to ensure Pancasila values are reflected in all aspects of life, especially among the younger generation. Because, the young generation has an important role in building an advanced Indonesia, so they need to be empowered, have competitiveness, and value gotong royong values,” he added.

Prof. H. Hamdan Juhannis, M.A. PhD. as Rector of UIN Alauddin Makassar explains the dangers of drug addiction.

“It's important to remember that addiction, no matter how smart a person is, can destroy everything. We must understand that true transformation takes place in the heart, not just in physical appearance,” he said.

Ansyar S.STP., M.AP as Plt. Head of Bakesbangpol Prov. South Sulawesi did not forget to explain the role of Kesbangpol in general government affairs concerning the internalization of religion, ideology, and insight into nationality.

“Radicalism can arise from various factors, such as insufficient economic or educational problems, as well as a lack of understanding of Pancasila's ideology. This is where Kesbangpol plays a role in managing general government affairs, which is responsible for facilitating the holding of future elections, including budget coordination with KPU, Bawaslu, and TNI Polri. “, explained Ansyar.

Meanwhile, the importance of keeping one's mind against intolerance or radicalism was expressed by Prof. Dr. H. Muammar Bakri, Lc., M.Ag., as a representative of the Communication Forum on Prevention of Terrorism (FKPT).

“If we contract a 'disease' in mind, such as intolerance or radicalism, preventive measures become essential to prevent its spread. However, if we are already 'infected', the necessary step is treatment. It underscores the importance of dealing with negative issues of ideology and beliefs. By maintaining the 'immunity' of our minds, we can minimize the risk of exposure to adverse ideologies, but in the event of exposure, treatment steps need to be taken immediately to address it. “, he revealed.

Later, AKBP Benyamin Buntu, S.H., M.H. as Head of Subdirectorate 1 Ditkrimum Polda Sulsel added the role of the Police in reducing radicalism and terrorism.

“We in the police are responsible for maintaining the security and order of the community, as well as reducing radicalism and terrorism through outreach and prevention measures, especially through the role of Babinkamtibmas at the village level,” Benyamin said.
