REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMARANG -- Police identified JW, Rosalia Indah bus driver who had a single accident at KM 370 Toll Semarang-Batang, Central Java (Jateng) on Thursday (11/4/2024), as a suspect. The incident killed seven passengers.
“Based on the title of the case, the examination of the witnesses, as well as the results of the crime scene, sufficient evidence has been obtained to establish JW as a suspect,” said Dirlantas Polda Jateng, Kombes Sonny Irawan in Semarang City, Friday (12/4/2024).
He explained that JW's designation as a suspect for his negligence resulted in an accident that cost others their lives. “The driver admitted to fatigue so had a moment of drowsiness,” Sonny said.
As for the victims who died, he said, all had been repatriated to his family for burial. “There are still three hospitalized, one of whom is seriously injured,” Sonny said.
Rosalia Indah bus had an accident at KM 370 of the Semarang-Batang Toll Road section on Thursday. Seven people were killed when a bus travelling from west to east went into a ditch on the side of the toll road.
