REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament and Deputy General Chairman of the Golkar Party DPP, Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) calls on all political parties to re-unite or reconcile into a future governing coalition. According to him, the philosophy of democracy in Indonesia knows no opposition.
Because this nation adheres to the principle of gotong royong democracy. Therefore, according to Bamsoet, the check and balance process can be carried out without opposition, that is, through the mechanisms of the existing system of state law.
“Deliberation for consensus is the hallmark of democracy in Indonesia. We want to build a democratic democracy. This is the right momentum for all of us political elites to end and close the loophole of lampooning our fellow children in the name of democracy, but it threatens the integrity of the nation,” Bamsoet said in Jakarta on Friday (12/4/2025).
Bamsoet reminded politicians not to bring protracted feelings because the world of politics is like a game. When a game is over, thank him, all the players must also reunite.
“In the world of politics there are no hard feelings, don't get hurt easily, because politics is the game. Victory and defeat are part of everyone's life. In politics, we can die many times and live many times,” Bamsoet said.
He said this after attending the griya (open house) at the residence of the Chairman of the National Campaign Team (TKN) Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Rosan Roeslani in Jakarta, Thursday (11/4/2024) evening WIB. On that occasion, the Chairman of the National Reconciliation Team (TPN) Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, Arsjad Rashid attended.
Bamsoet also hopes that the meeting between Rosan Roeslani and Arsjad Rashid can bridge the political parties that support Prabowo and the political parties that support Ganjar to unite. He wants the two camps to join forces in the government going forward.
“Finally the two friends came back after a long time in two different camps. I hope that the meeting of the two will be able to bridge the two camps that are fighting in the 2024 presidential election to unite in a grand coalition of President Prabowo's government,” Bamsoet said.
He also hopes that all political parties that fight in the 2024 elections and enter the parliament can join into the government coalition. The goal is for the Prabowo-Gibran government to run better and more effectively.
“Once again I reiterate my full support if president-elect Prabowo Subianto embraces all political parties to enter into a coalition. The leaders of political parties also want to join forces and unite steps with the new government to make it easier to realize well-being for all Indonesians,” he said.
