REPUBLICA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- KH Bachtiar Nasir declared the Jakarta Minutes during a Palestinian Solidarity/ Prayer for Gaza rally in the Monas area, Central Jakarta, Sunday (7/4/2024). The minutes were signed by ustadz Bachtiar as chairman of the Executive Committee of the Indonesian People's Alliance Bela Palestina and Prof. Din Syamsuddin as chairman of the Steering Committee of the Indonesian People's Alliance Bela Palestina.

Before the mass of the Action for Prayer for Gaza, ustadz Bachtiar called on all to commit to support Palestinian independence. He then read the Jakarta Protocol, which contained strategic points to help fight for an independent Palestine while stopping the genocide waged by Israel.

Here is the full content of the Jakarta Minutes, quoted from a written statement received by Republika from Din Syamsuddin:

“Looking closely with great concern to the humanitarian tragedy and genocide that befell the people of Gaza/Palestine, we Indonesians, under the sovereignty of the Supreme Lord and of a just and civilized humanity, hereby declare:

First, support the independence of a sovereign Palestinian state and have equal and equal rights with other countries as member of the United Nations (UN).

Second, launch a Peace Convoy around the world to invite other peace-loving and justice-loving nations to build a Global Coalition to achieve lasting peace and end all forms of Israeli occupation and colonization of Palestine.

Third, we specifically invite our brothers and sisters in Arab/Islamic countries to join the Peace Safari and the Global Coalition for World Peace.
