“So I still remain (as a mayoral candidate) in Bandung. But we still need a survey first to show that we are really ready and able to move forward later,” Atalia told reporters after attending a briefing for Golkar Party regional chief candidates at the banana-tree logo party headquarters in West Jakarta, Saturday (6/4/2024).

In the 2024 parliamentary election, Atalia managed to get 234,063 votes in the electoral district of Jabar I. She was the highest vote-winning candidate in the constituency. Therefore, he can almost certainly win the legislator's seat and be sworn in as a member of the Parliament of RI for the period 2024—2029.

The inauguration of the elected members of Parliament will be held on October 1, 2024. The selection of a candidate for regional head will be carried out by the Commission on September 22, 2024. This means that the determination of Bandung cawalkot will be implemented before Atalia is sworn in as a member of Parliament.

Elected members of Parliament who come forward as candidates for head of the county are known to have to make an affidavit willing to resign if they have been formally sworn in as a member of Parliament. This provision is the content of the Constitutional Court (MK) Decision No. 12/PUU-XXII/2024.
